And now it’s been revealed that the actor is the cousin of one of R&B’s most memorable singers from the 1980s, Phyllis Hyman.
They are second cousins and back then they kept that fact a secret although no one knows why but now that’s it out, it’s a fun fact that anyone who loves old school music will be able to appreciate. Some fans might remember how Russell used to quote Shakespeare on the show and it turns that the writers of The Cosby Show would include those quotes thinking about Earle because he was a big admirer of the Bard and performed in several theatrical plays.
